Sam started 1st grade and Henry started at a brand new school - Second Street School. Both are doing great! Sam's spanish is steadily improving after a summer of disuse. And Henry feels like he's come back home - Sam was at Second Street when Henry was born, so he grew up on that playground. He couldn't be happier, and we couldn't be happier watching him run around with tons of new friends.

Sophie had a marathon trip to New York, getting introduced to tons of family and friends (don't be offended if she doesn't remember all your names!).

We've had a fun and hectic summer in Tucson (and traveling out of Tucson). Our summer started with our surprise call to come get Sophie, and was pretty much nonstop from there.

We spent a week in Durango, Colorado this summer. Fun adventures included white water rafting (we had the find the rafting company irresponsible enough to let us bring our 3 year old!), alpine sledding, and hiking. Adventures we could have done without included getting caught on two of those hikes in rain and hail storms, and finding no hotel vacancies between Durango and Tucson on our way home! We were joined by Jane and Bob and had a great time!

This is just too cute. Henry still has a crush on Sophie, though he starting to be a little more gentle about it!

When we were in New York, Sophie shared her first laugh with her Aunt Jane and Uncle Bobby. And this wasn't just a giggle - she was full out chuckling! Since then she's laughed a few more times for Jen and once more for Derek. They're hard to come by, but melt your heart when you get one!

Sam started taking a real gymnastics class and he's loving it! The Olympics were a true inspiration for him... where are they going to be again in 2020?
